How do I look somewhere other than the center when zoomed in?

I thought it was T to move along the object, but T just toggles the tool palette on and off. What is it that lets you move where your view is, so that you can look at a specific area?

Middle mouse button rotates, shift MMB pans, MMB scroll zooms in and out.
If you’re on a mac, no idea…

Oh, and to centre the view on the selected object, it’s the “.” key on your numpad.

Shift + middle mouse rotate will pan up and down, Ctrl+ middle mouse rotate will pan left or right.

Please note: pixelmass means “scroll”, not rotate.
