How do I make a video?

I already have the stuff I want fully rendered and animated in Jpeg format, but how do I turn it into something that can be played in windows media or any other media player?

Thanks.

You can use Blenders compositor.

And here for video output formats

You can press F10 to bring up the Rendering menu and choose the type of format Blender will render to like AVI RAW for no compression or AVI JPEG for compressed videos.

As yellowflash says, I recommend choose ‘use codec’ (compression/decompression) this will show the codecs installed on your pc, if on windows for ex you could use windows media. This will save you a lot of space, uncompressed avi’s are HUGE.

Another option would be to go outside of Blender and use a 3rd party program like VirtualDub. It’s also free, and can import image sequences and then render them into whatever format you want it to be in.

an option to uncompressed is use a lossless codec. For me works ok as a transport, temporal format, the one given free by camstudio, downloadable apart. At http://sourceforge.net/projects/camstudio (hit Donwload/Browse All Files) .

(and yep, you can import frames into Vdub and then edit as wished and compile as avi…allways that you never compress intermediate avis/frames, or use lossless codecs)

Other lossless codec : fastcodec, but probably bigger file…

Dont re-edit compressed avis…

What i do is i make jpg’s in sequence through blender so when i quit i can start where i left off and then i use VirtualDub which i use to covert jpg to Divx Avi. Now i dont recall were u get it so u may have to Google it

I wrote this just for you…http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/Video_Sequences#Converting_a_Frame_Sequence_to_a_Movie_Clip and for all the other people who continually have this problem.
