I am making Characters for my game and I have no idea how game clothes. I may have an idea how to do game hair. Na uh? How do I do it correctly?
One of the easier methods is you can duplicate the mesh at the parts where the clothes would be for example the leg and hip region you would duplicate then you can sculpt the pants as you would want them to be, if being animated then you can retopo or just make a lower poly mesh off the sculpted one and bake the details to a normal map. Texture paint as needed/wanted and there you go. Or there are purchase options for clothing as well but those will not be custom to your needs and may still need some adjustments for your character.
