How do I make the seam that I have highlighted less noticeable when rendered?
First i would check some reference… (see ? in image)… does this really look like this… then subdivide and
thinking about it maybe also subdivide along the green arrows… (no additional image )

Ahemm… but this is an edge ?!? Of course you could bevel it or produce some normal map…
If you want to soften the edge but not completely eliminate it beveling is the way to go. I would bevel all or most edges, it just looks and renders better. Downside is the topology will be less clean.
