How Do I take Screenshots?

just curious but how do you do it?

I press the “print screen” button on the top left of the keyboard. Then I go to photoshop, make a new image and press ctrl+v to paste the captured shot to the blank image.

Hi Manok,

If you dont have Photo$hop you can use the GIMP too…

Gimp is free, and if you are running Linux you might already have it installed…

Or if you are win windows you can get it here:

Hi Falgor!

Long time man

have a nice day guys

If I need screenshots of Blender, I use ctrl-f3 to save the active context or ctrl-shift-f3 to save the whole screen.

In some rare cases I might use the screenshot tool provided by my operating system.

OMG!!

BeBraw you totaly rock!!

Thank you for this… My tutorials just got 1000% easyer to make…

thanks again!

Just one more tip I forgot to mention. You can make a custom “screenshot” workspace that contains only side, top, front and camera views of your object. Could be any other views as well. Get rid of the User Preferences window at the top. Remove headers too to make it even better. Tweak shading of 3D viewports to be desired. Then just grab screenshot of the whole window and that’s it.

There are also some free screen shot software which allow you some more freedom as immediately saving the screen shot (not having to open an image editor, paste the image, save) and you can chose to screen the active window or even the area formed by a rectangle you draw.
Do a search on google, there are free ones out there.
