How do I texture wrap cube?

Hi Community,

Disclaimer: This is my first time using blender. I’ve used Scupltris, Fusion360 and TinkerCAD for my projects in the past.

Here’s the project: Create a custom dice with thin cracks that wrap around the surface.

I’ve created a basic cube with 16x16 subdivisions on each face in Blender. Unfortunately when I apply the displace modifier and use a cracked texture the cracks don’t line up properly and some run right along an edge rather than crossing it.

Resource: I used this youtube tutorial to get me close: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyWY26Dd8R8.

What I need to know: Is it possible to create and apply a seamless cracked texture that wraps around a cube? Can I create a texture that is essentially an unfolded cube then use that to wrap the model, kinda like a block texture in minecraft? Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Gubbinz

Might be able to accomplish the effect I’m looking for with the Object: Cell fracture. Using my cube again I applied the cell fracture. What I need to know now is if it’s possible to create a groove along the seams where the fractured cells meet?

Hmm, cell fracture might not be what I’m looking for but this looks promising:
