Why would anybody want to put up with the stuff moderators deal with on a daily basis? There are perks I’m sure, but the rest—checking for porn, correcting double-posts, calming down flame wars etc. No way. It’s a pretty thankless job if you ask me, and probably not very good for their blood pressure. 
My hat’s off to them. But I wouldn’t want to be one.

Sorry, i would have replied sooner, but i didn’t know it was a comeback(doesn’t sound like one anyways).
It might not be fun for you, with all your misguided obtuse ethics and what you say is right, and what is wrong. If i was a moderator i probably wouldn’t care if people started flame wars or posted porn or whatever. I mean kids will have to learn what the actual world is like out there, and that there are greater evils than barney. And i even saw this one site that actually that wastes they’re time trying to find the slightest traces of nudity and swears in disney movies, and they actually found stuff, like “What the heck”. The parents who go to this site are probably the same ones who dubbed harry potter as being evil(instead of the rest who called it just plain crappy).
And if you think about it, they only get more advantages than us, the moderators. They can post, edit, create polls like we can. BUt they can also edit someone elses posts, delete someone elses posts, ban someone, remove peoples rights to edit their own profile, etc. All your “duties as moderators” you dont really have to do, you just do them cause your STUPID.
And just so we don’t overthrow them, they did the same thing movie stars do: say that money(in this case POWER and LOTS of it) isn’t everything. I’ll believe that when i can experience it. Hint.

Wants to be a moderator but already is disagreeing with the responsibilities! 
I have to say that all the mods here and on blender.org are doing a fabulous job! They don’t get enough credit for what they contribute to the blender community. Sure we have the programmers and Ton and everyone else… but if it weren’t for the mods we would all be bickering and fighting and have probably one discussion channel to argue in… Thanks to you all for doing a wonderfull job and keep up the great work!
