I didn’t see this on the hotkey legend. Once you copy the Logic Bricks from one object with Ctrl C, how do you paste it to another?
thanks

I believe you select the one that you want the logic bricks to be applied to, then select the one WITH the logic bricks, press Ctrl+C and then press copy logic bricks.
woot:spin:
thanks

I always wondered how this works (not only with logic blocks) many thanks for this gem

Same here, Blender’s copy/paste function works kinda funny doesn’t it? Do you think they’ll ever have support for copying and pasting text from the OS?
There’s no “clip board” (I’m not sure what it’s really called) for blender, so instead of copying whatever data to the ram, it just puts it directly into selected objects. I don’t know anything about programming, but it seems to me like a fairly good amount of rewriting would be required for this, and I doubt it’s that high on the dev’s priorities.
for more from someone who has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about, read more of my posts in other threads!
In other OSes i don’t know, but in windows you paste in Blender Text Editor with CTRL+SHIFT+V
hey dude, thanks I always wondered how to do that. It was a real pain to save all of the python examples to text files and then opening them
Here’s a followup question: how can you get logic brick systems which link to other objects to work after you duplicate the objects? For example, Cube 1’s logic bricks have a connection to Cube 2’s logic bricks. If you copy Cube 1, though, Cube 1.001 will not be connected to Cube 2.
If you make a linked copy you have the logic copied also, then just make the linked copy a single user.
WTH? Um, how do you do that?
Thanks much
To completely copy an object, you use [Shift+D]. A linked copy makes a new object, but the new object shares the same data as the original (same mesh, material, etc.). To make a linked copy, use [Alt+D]. To make an object singer user, press [U Key] and select the desired setting from the popup menu.
First 2 posts don’t explain you need the spacebar search to find that critical command, “Copy logic to selected…”
Impress girls by setting up a shortcut in User Preferences » 3d View » Object Mode… Just use “object.logic_bricks_copy” (no quotes) with some free button. It won’t work if set up for the Logic Editor, I don’t know why. Like Captain Oblivion says, the Blender clipboard is just bonkers. Got to love it! Peace.
Well, see, when this thread was first started, almost 12 years ago, the spacebar search didn’t yet exist.
But yes, a good tip!
3d window -> hit object (in bottom bar) hit game do whatever you like with bricks or properties
