How do you edit a mesh after parenting to a rig and weight painted

I just rigged my characters face using the pichypoy face rig and realized that I had a few verts out of place. What is the process for editing the mesh? Currently I cannot move the vets - I assume this is due to the armature parenting and/or weight painting.

Make sure you have the basis shape selected. Changing the basis will likely ruin other shapekeys, so beware.
