How do you export .X File

  1. How do you export a blender scene as a DirectX .x file?

  2. Do the actual textures get stored in the file as well or just their path? :o

  1. Not unless you pack them… Go TOOLS>Pack Data… another way is to go to the textures buttons window and press that little button with the “package” icon, next to the image texture path bar…

After that all the textures are stored inside the .blend and you can even distribut them along with your scene… But that increases a little bit the size of the file…

Spyros.

so can you export .x files with Blender or not?

If so, how?

I think there’s a script to do it, not sure though. Google would be your best bet here.

Look at Crossroads 3D - I would try exporting a VRML file and then converting with Crossroads 3D.

Yes, you can export to .x files… Not sure what will be exported at all, but a script can be found somewhere in these forums… Try to search the python script forums too. I just get one .x exporter some time ago, but I realy needed a .n3d exporter. I don’t try the script, but somewhere in that forum you can find my post…
Later, if you can’t find it (may not be dificult to find it…), I can send that script for you or place some links, but try to get the script yourself, to get a fresh thing…
