How do you rig a realistic game bird wing?

Hi. I have to create a Raven for a game in Unity. The bird needs to be realistic. This means that the wings need to look good while flying, as well as tucked away while standing. I haven’t modeled the bird yet, but I would assume it’s best to have the wings out, and then fold them in as part of the animation. This could be a problem if the wing doesn’t look natural or if the texture is too stretched when standing still. (I foresee the bird spending most of it’s time NOT flying, but rather looking at the player menacingly, and eating) Maybe I should cheat and have 2 sets of wings where when the bird lands, his wings “fold” but then go inside his body and the natural folded wings come out. I wonder how hard that would be to hide. What do you guys think is the best way to go about this?

There has to be a way to do this. In Half life 2 there is a bird that can fly, and stand.

Here’s a video of him just standing

Here’s a video of a bird flying around and occasionally landing for a split second.

For reference on how the bird flaps (polygon placement, and bone placement) Here’s a video of a bird glitch flying in the ground (bird is at 6:50)
