How do you rotate a mapped-on texture around the texture's centre?

Hi,

This might seem obvious, but I have never needed to do this before and cannot figure out how to do it.

I have a texture mapped on to a plane, and I want to rotate the texture at material-level around the texture’s own centre, but the Mapping node will only rotate the texture around what I think is the bottom left corner of the texture.

It seems so simple but I can’t do it! Anyone who can help, I’d be very grateful, thanks!

If in cycles - plug the mapping node into the texture node vector slot - then change the x,y,z rotation numbers in the mapping node.

It is possible now to use Object. Animate Empty Z rotation.

You may not even have to specify a specific object like in Eppo’s example. The object coordinate output will use the coordinates of the object that has the material by default.
