Hey,
I am totally confused. I am doing my dissertation at univeristy and I am projecting an animation onto a screen for my ‘participants’ to watch! But my supervisor says I need to work out the field of view to get the right value for the lens of the camera, he says there is an equation. Does anyone know it??!
Thanks, Roz
It sounds like they might be talking about the aspect ratio. Like 4:3 or 16:9. Basically if you’re rendering to video, you need to keep the dimensions of your render to that of the output device you are using. For example, if the projector you are using is widescreen, you would have to render in 16:9. The field of view would be setup from the camera/render setting within Blender. There are presets for that.
Otherwise, if you’re trying to work out what field of view a 35mm (or whatever) lens would be, maybe check this site.
