How does a instant camera work?
After a little bit of research I began to work on this little infographic/documentary animation. I want to keep the models straight and simple.
Take a first look:
depends on your goals
if for a simple anmation itās good
but could use some improvements
like 3D model is too squarish - some bevels on corners would make it look better
could also do materials in cycles to get a more realist render may be!
hehe RickyBlender, this already is cycles.
but I didnāt aim at a realistic rendering, as I want to animate it easily and fast
The next things to to will be the insertion of the film cartridge, and a toplayer for the Light path of the Eyepiece, the Lens and describing the shutter
Maybe Iāll Bevel the Eyepiece but, I donāt feel like rerendering everything with it. Weāll see
Hi, that looks great. As a former camera Seller i can recognize the camera easy, even though it is simplified. Only thing: i would do the angle from front, where the lens is, to the part bellow a bit stronger, Front view it looks almost 90Ā° angle. Second the viewfinder on front is regressed, but comes out on yours. And maybe some reflection would be nice. Third and last, the view-angle differs from viewfinder to lens. It certainly does in real life too, but not that strong.
Would be cool to add a simple image into the thing that shows the Lightrays, so you can demonstrate how the image gets flipped. I mean, put a image from object in front of Lens, one flipped on the mirror and one on the Film.
To be picky, the Chemicals in the film make a kind of bulb before the rolls, (like) it gets squeezed around.
To be really picky, i would prefer one of the nicest polaroid camera (imo), the SX-70 Land Camera. But that as well cause i ever wondered how/where the mirroring/Lightrays happens but never have looked it up
Maybe interesting to point out the battery is in the film cartridge?
And donāt show somebody shake the image to develop, that is wrong. You should not do that, even though you see it in every movie.
