When one sets up a curve with a hook modifier – no where on the modifier does it tell you which control point is affected by the target. How do you know which control point is being affected?
I just saw on a tut it is the same as the control H add hook. So can’t you add the hook in edit mode to the segment you wish? just skip the modifier section.
When in edit mode, the hook modifier has “select” and “assign” buttons. Pressing “select” will select the vertices or control points assigned to that hook modifier. Assign will assign selected vertices to the hook.

I needed to know for debugging reasons, I’m having trouble with a rig. Setting it up with CTL-H is easy. Fixing a mistake was difficult.
