How does the size influence my model?

When I model something (for example a human) what is the best size it should have? One blender unit? Is there a big difference if my model has a size of 0.5 blenderunits or 15 blenderunits? And if yes how does it influences the general behaviour or rendering?

Scale matters mostly for physics simulations (fluids, anything affected by gravity, etc). By default the program assumes 1 blender unit = 1 meter.

I may be wrong, but scale may also figure into some aspects of Cycles rendering.

Yeah I guess that too -at least I think it behaves different on different scales.
Thank you for your answer
