How is elysiun financed?

Hi there,

I don’t see any annnoying popups and banners on elysiun so I assume that it’s somehow financed.

I’m thinking of having my own forum sometime in the future and was curious to know how you cover the cost(s) of elysiun.

If it’s all top-secret, I understand

Jon

we’re trying to work that out at this moment, up untill now it’s been mostly funded by us personally and the Blender Foundation has compensated us for that.

We’re now looking into other options (sponsorship, banners, funding campaign)

If you want to start out a forum, start small and cheap! won’t cost much.

Timothy

Sorry it took so long for me to post a reply.

I hope you can find some good sponsorships to keep elysiun up and running. It would be really sad to see this forum go :frowning:

Anyway, I have a few other questions for you if you don’t mind me asking.

Is there any kind of special administrative software you use to the forum or do you use like a control panel actually installed on the server. I’m thinking of using phpBB 2 as it has some pretty cool features. The problem is, my current webhost does not support php, php3 or php4 :frowning: so I’m currently looking for alternative webhost to dedicate the forum to.

Any suggestions for good webhosts? I was thinking of using united-domains but I’m still not sure.

Also, how big is elysiun? Must be into the Gigerbytes by now :-?

Go over Tim’s project plan for BlenderArtists.org, it’s on that page.

Hey, is that neo on your picture?
???!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
