How make guitar string (low E) with texture?

Sleeve of string contains hundred of little rings because they are coiled around the string. I want to add very very small plumb black stripes between string´s original colour. Maybe add some “mess” too (irregularitys etc.)

try the wood texture set with a very high size so that it repeats many times over the length of the string.
