Yes, it can totally be done in Blender. However, if you just want a mic mesh, fee lfree to pop over to Blendswap and download my mic & stand, it’s CC-0 use.

You can do this with curves to make the flat mesh of wire, then use Cloth modifier to drape it over a sphere, or use Shrinkwrap to mold it around part of a sphere. Consult tutorials for how to use each of these things.
