How many languages do you speak?

Well it’s FadieZ the poll whore back again with a new exciting idea. Just wanted to know how many BA’s spoke more than one language. After voting, you’re free to post the languages you speak, be you fluent or not in any one of them.

Enjoy:)

P.S. I’m fluent in English, French and Arabic and fair in Spanish.

P.P.S My thread title kinda sounds weird, I’m sure I said it wrong. Any language nuts able to help me out?

P.P.P.S. No, 1337 5P34K and/or scripting and/or a few swear words and/or imaginary languages don’t count. Otherwise, I’d be dodecilingual.

English fluently and some French.

I also speak teh intarwebs lol.

I only speak English fluently, but I can manage a spattering of sentences in hindi, bengali, german, italian, BASIC, OPL, and I know how to say ‘I don’t speak telgu’ in telgu.

I’m fluent in English, a little bit of French, and I can read Hebrew text, but have no idea what it means.

English fluently. French less so.
I also know a few words in D’ni (the Myst language) but not any Klingon or Elvish. If your imaginary language is really obscure, does that make you more or less nerdy for knowing it.

oh, and like valarking, I too can speek teh interne7 speech. It’s not teh p0pu14r NE more tho. OMG 1337 teh aw3som3!!11!!1111!!!one!!one!!! LOLOL

I took French for 3 years and forgot it all in a week. :stuck_out_tongue: All I remember is how to say I’m wiped out: Je suis raplapla.

I’m taking Latin right now.

Dutch, English, French and German for me (in that order).
Say, do programming languages count? Technically they’re languages as well with their own syntax, “grammar” and “vocabulary”.

@Plantperson: more nerdy I suppose. Don’t worry. Some people know a language that they themselves have invented

Fluent in English and I speak Welsh almost fluently. I can get by in Spanish and German and know a few phrases of French and Python

That makes two of us
I can speak Dutch, French and English fluently.

English, 日本語、een klein beetje nederlands, trosku cesky (omluvam se, ale neumim psat hacky s pocitacem), un poco espanol, un petit, petit peu francais.

English and French, although I read French better than I speak it these days (I suppose the same could be said for my English skills as well.) As far as survival tourist language skills: Amharic, Thai, Portugese, German, Russian…all in a state of grave disrepair.

English, German (Native speaker), y hablo un poco espanol…

Fluent in english, learning some French. I love the idea of knowing a second language because I can shout french gibberish (J’AIME LE POISSON DANS LE SALLE DE BAIN AVEC TON MERE) and they haven’t a clue what I’m saying

Do you? :stuck_out_tongue:
Mêre is female so it should be “ta mêre” (even when the person you’re talking to is male).
Who is the guy who claims to know 10 languages? If several phrases count, and computing languages, then I know 9 languages (Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Python, C++, HTML, CSS)

Pssh, only in grade 10

Danish, English, and a little German

I speak Spanish and I’m also fluent in English. I also understand some basic Italian (it’s closely related to Spanish since they’re both Romance Languages)

PS: The proper way to refer to “Spanish” is CASTILIAN (that’s because every autonomous community in Spain has it’s own official language)

I speak 481,332,102 languages…

I speak English, mais quelquefois je parle aussi la francais!!! (Feel free to correct my awful grammar:o)

J’AIME LE POISSON DANS LE SALLE DE BAIN AVEC TON MERE

For those of you who don’t know, this translates (with fixed grammar) as “I like the fish in the bathroom with your mother”.

It’s pretty good, except it’s “le” francais.
