I’ve messaged several moderators and after a week none of them responded. Is this website getting shutdown? Everyone should forget about it because there’s clearly no one running it?
You can’t just expect to get direct correspondence with moderators (or any other person, for that matter). If there’s a problem with some post, you can use the “report” button - it’ll get taken care of, in my experience. For other cases, you can use the website support forum.
Straight from your PhD in community managing I suppose.
I wonder how there are still people who take at face value the shitload of logorrheic crap and banalities that your mouth ejects every time.
There are four primary ways to get in touch with our moderators (in the recommended order that you should try):
- Use the Report Post feature. This is specific to if you have a problem with a thread or a specific post in a thread. It’s the fastest, most reliable way to reach the moderation team. We all check on reported posts when they come in.
- Make a post in this forum (the Blender Artists Website support forum). All moderators check this forum. We may not check it as frequently as the reported posts or the moderation queue, but we do check it.
- Send a PM to one of the moderators. I’m probably the most active moderator on the forum. You can PM me. However, a lot of people PM me, so I might not respond as quickly as the previous two methods. For the record… I’ve not received any PMs from you in the last week.
- Send an email to [email protected]. This will be responded to, but typically we recommend this as a last course of action. Very rarely will you ever need to actually use that channel. It may also be slower than the three previously mentioned options.
Now… what’s the specific issue that you’re having?
It’s common sense. You might not be getting a lot of direct messages (or emails), but people of interest do. Eventually, their inbox is full of people, each asking for a little something. This adds up to a huge task that they don’t really have to do. So they don’t.
You might contest that this is “bad community management”, but that’s really besides the point. Moderators are volunteers.

It’s not about reporting someone and this is literally the only website in my entire life where no staff is able to be contacted? It’s been two weeks, did they get murdered or what? Even scam artists respond sooner than these guys. If they don’t want the basic basic basic basic basic basic basic basic basic basic elementary responsibility of receiving messages then they shouldn’t have signed up to be a moderator and should be removed form the staff immediately and permanently so that someone who’s actually responsible can take their place.
Nope, you can get emails from famous celebrities and corporate executives faster than these supposed “moderators” (I’ve done it more than once). You will go bankrupt in any business if it takes you two weeks to respond to basic emails, and I don’t see this site getting donations of any sort any time soon. They will single-handedly destroy the site because the staff are too lazy and incompetent to do anything. Any operation that lacks leadership and responsibility always inevitably crumbles.
There are no messages from you in my inbox so I assume I’m not one of the several moderators you messaged.
If you have questions about the site then you’d need to really contact one of the admins rather than a moderator.
What is the message ?
So far there have been two moderators (one of which is an admin) who’ve responded to this thread… and neither of us have received a PM from you. Perhaps you should try contacting one of us. Who else have you tried to contact?

Those are who I messaged and none of them responded at all in any way. All I wanted to do was change my username cause I’m using a different LLC, or delete this account if the username can’t be changed.
Well there’s your problem. None of those members are moderators on this forum. What made you think that they’re moderators?
The process for changing your username is simple. Create a thread in this forum (Blender Artists Website Support) and say the name that you want to change to. I’ll go in and make the change.
That would make sense if in fact they weren’t moderators. But, the website says they are and they created locked threads, so I messaged them. But good to know about the thread thing.
Where exactly does the site say they’re moderators? Can you provide me with a link? It’s not that I don’t believe you, but I’ve been a moderator and administrator this site for a while (and a regular member for a long chunk before that) and I don’t recall any of those usernames as moderators. If they’re listed as moderators somewhere, that’s obviously an error and it should be updated/fixed.
This is an automated message - since the last reply was more than 3 months old, I auto-marked it as the solution. If you still need help, just post a new reply.
