How to Achieve a Similar Rendering Setup

Hi, can someone please tell me how to render a model with a similar look to this. I was using an HDRI image. Is this using a shader and how did they set u p the BG. Thanks.

That looks like the default Solid shading, with the Overlays turned off, and with the Cavity(Both) turned on.

Ok, thanks. Yeah that’s it. I tried a viewport render and it didn’t look as good. Maybe I will try to render with a Matcap Material.

Using both is a good idea, since screen is best used to control Ridge and World is good for Valley control.

You can try getting some Matcaps, i have 700 of them but slowly going down with the number, but in the end I’m mostly using 8 or so, I love the Check_Normal or whatever the name is

Thanks… I would like to use a MatCap material instead of the “Viewport Shading”. So I watched a tutorial about using Matcap materials but it isn’t working so well. My results are not looking like the image I posted above. I wrote down the steps but cannot find in 4.2

Blender MatCaps

  1. Open Blender then select the “Texture” icon and load he texture.
  2. In the Texture Settings set the "mapping to “Normal” and turn on "Shadeless. (I Cannot find these in Blender 4.2)
  3. Finally, remove the lamps from scene and turn on AO for best effect.
  4. What or how would I create a Matcap that would look similar to my image above?

If you could post a sample file I would appreciate it. I will try to post my file if I can get something working. :+1:

Matcaps are essentially images, you load them by selecting .png or whatever they are stored in (JPEG sucks in most cases when it comes to anything, except for picture saving/camera), Edit > Prefferences > Lights > Matcap

I gave Gemini a try, it spewed this
