Hi, I was wondering how do you add a normal map to your .blend file? I have it in jpeg option right now, so how am I supposed to add it to the file…
Thanks!

In the texture panel. Create a new texture, choose its type as image and open your image file from the disk. Remember to set the sampling type to normal map, the coordinates to uv, and the influence to normal rather than color. This only works with Blender Internal. Cycles doesn’t support normal maps yet.
Would that work on a low polly game characters that will be animated too?
Normal maps are usually used with low poly to give otherwise plain looking model an enhanced look and feel. Normal Maps are baked from highly detailed model to low poly models.
As long as it’s a tangent space normal map, sure.
So I did everything that you told me, but my normal map is still not showing in the render (or edit mode or anywhere) is there a way you can direct me to a tutorial or something (I am sorry I am very visual). But I did do what you told me.
