How to adjust gamma for previews?

Apparentely some of the options Animation:Master has is to set the “Desired gamma” (see bottom of this page). I was wondering if there’s anything similar in Blender, is there?

Gamma adjustments for a particular output format would be done e.g. using RGB nodes in the final composite. Otherwise known as “color grading.” (Not quite the same but close enough to be relevant.)

You can adjust GAMMA with both nodes and area lamp settings.
