in an animation i need to animate the ambient occlusion energy value.

but it seems blender does not allow that. am i right?

Do you only need to animate the energy or also some of the other settings?

Does the Python API give you access to AO energy level? If so, then you can bind the value to the position of an empty and animate the empty.
