How to animate High Pressure Washing?

I’m on a rather unusual task at the moment:
I would like to animate the process of high pressure washing with a waterstream.

I have already modelled a high pressure lance with a nice smoke stream coming out of it (looks like water in combination with a wind field).
But I’m still not sure how to animate some kind of dirt (e.g. small plants and so on) beeing washed away, only leaving a clean surface.
It might be only by changing the texture in the affected area or - even better - actually throwing particles away from the spot of impact.

Have I expressed myself clearly?
Do you have suggestions?


I think what you want is dynamic paint. I’ve never messed with it, but from what I’ve seen it would certainly work for changing a texture, and I think that clearing away particles would be very doable to.
