How to apply animated modifier?

I’ve made animated Simple Deform modifier (Bend one). Just two key frames on the angle values. The problem is that if I apply the modifier, the animation gets lost. So is there a way to apply the modifier and save its key frame animation? Thanks

Did you figure this out? I’m trying to do similar, in order to export the animated object deformations to Unity. But maybe I’m thinking about it the wrong way.
