How to approach making this pseudo marble-ish material?

(Im talking about the orange part) How to approach making the ripples inside the material ? Smoke simulation ? Textures ?

That would be quite difficult to do with Cycles currently. You’d need a way of making glossy volumetric patterns, but current volumetric textures in cycles can only be made diffiuse (or emissive).

I have experimented with volumetric type materials in the past - they might help get you started.

but not easy to get the right parameters!
