How to assign a custom object in viewport display to multiple pose bones at once?

When appending A collection that contains my rigged characters, the folder containing my custom shapes always gets screwed up.
For example the custom shape was lost for the fingers. Each finger uses the same custom shape. How can I assign that custom shape to multiple bones at once?

Select all finger bones, with one actively selected, in pose. Assign the custom shape. Right click in custom shape field, choose “copy to selected”.
