how to avoid the gradient on background


how to avoid the gradient on background.

i use cycles.
the light is a plane (Emission) and objects is simple materials (Diffuse).


there are inumerous ways to do this, depending on your scene. but most of them involve using the distance from the camera.
you can do it in post using Z values…
or you can play with the ‘Ray Length’ and ‘Is Camera Ray’, and mix the diffuse with a transparency or an emission shader.
