Hi all.
I know that to change the color of several objects at once in Evee and Cycles one can use Link->Materials.
But in Workbench, if I set the color directly in the Object tab->Viewport Display, I did not find any way to link several objects in order to use the same color. Do you know if there is a way to obtain the effect?
Thanks
Copy to Selected copies the property from the active object to all selected objects.
Select all the objects, that you want to be the same color, change the color of the active object under Object tab > Viewport display and then right click > Copy to selected to transfer that color to all the other objects.
The colors won’t be really linked though. So changing the color of one of these objects won’t affect the others and you’ll have to repeat the steps above to change the colors of all the objects.
Interesting. You found a glitch.
If you have many objects selected, you can edit all shared attributes at once. Try hold Alt+LClick on x location and drag. All selected objects are affected.
This Alt+LClick trick works for several other properties. Alt+LClick on object/Viewport Display/Display and select Bounds switch all selected objects to Bounds mode.
Now the inconsistency. This Alt+LClick trick does not work for object/Viewport Display/Color.
Easy workaround (like lone_noel said), there is still ´copy to selected´.
Thanks, I did not know the “Copy to selected” feature, it actually works.
Anyway, as both of you said, it would probably better/more consistent to have also this kind of property actually linked.
