Hi,
How do I connect a vertex to an edge where the vertex has its own edge to follow? I tried the snap to edge, it does snap to edge, but it will slide on that edge when I need it to snap with the edge where the vertex is too. I tried moving it using G Y, it won’t snap to the edge even if it slides on Y direction.
Cheers.
I recommend this tutorial. Not sure if it will answer your question but its a good one to go through. Still applies to 2.82

there is also one on youtube that tels about drafting in blender.
I recommend measureit addon and the 3d snap utils addon added or turned on.
Sorry I do not fully understand your post but I hope this helps
Thanks for the reply, Brontobyte. I want to snap the vertex to the edge as shown in the picture while ensuring that the edge where the vertex is attached to isn’t rotated or has its direction changed. If the vertex has to snap to the edge, it will slide on that edge, which therefore the accuracy here is lost.
The video is kinda 25 minutes long so I will surely watch it when I can, unless you can point me which part that solves my problem. Also I’m trying not to use any add-on yet cause I want to grasp the basic tools.
