How to continuously rotate viewport with fixed axis?


Is it possible to do constinuous rotation of the viewport (say along the Z axis), whilst having the view locked to the XY plane (using key 7 on the numpad)?

I know how to rotate the viewport by increments, but I would like to know how to do it in a continuous fashion.


In the standard viewport, if it’s possible it’s well hidden, but if you’re using a camera you can rotate on it’s local Z axis.
