How to control emission shader with empty

Hi Guys I have multiple lights with same emission shader and I would like to turn the emission on and off by moving an empty around them. How can I do this? There is not much tutorials about this.

Right click on empty z position in the n pannel . Copy as driver… go to your emission factor in material .right click past driver

Didn’t try, but can’t you reference the empty in a texture coordinate/object and use math from there to drive it?
