How to copy Rest pose?

I was wondering if there is a way to set keyframes in the same pose as the Rest Position of a rigged model?

Sometimes it happens that the bones get all jumbled up, and when I press Rest Position they’re all nicely laid out again as they should be. I tried to locrot on a keyframe having the rest pose on, but the keyframes didn’t set in the rest pose. Same thing when I tried to copy pose to buffer.
Is there any way to do it?

I think you cannot copy explicitly the rest pose, but you can reset the bones’ positions. Select all bones in pose mode, remove Loc/Rot/Scale with Alt-G, Alt-R, and Alt-S, and make keyframes at these new positions.

or go into pose mode, select all bones, then press W and Clear Pose

Clear pose! It doesn’t seem to work in 2.43RC2 though :frowning: . Has anyone else had this problem?

It has been fixed. (I actually reported the bug.)
If you access through the W key, it should work. But not through the menu.

Thanks for the replies! I ddin’t see a Clear Pose option under W in pose mode. Just clear paths…tried that but nothing happened.

The Alt+G, R, S did the trick however!

It’s only in 2.43 rc1+

But I wouldn’t recommand using with your project until the official version comes out. There might be a bug that screws up your blend file. But you can download just to test, after making a backup!
