How to create a colour gradients in cycles

Hi Guys

was going to make my first image with cycles but cant work out how to create colour gradients.

There is a gradient node, but can see any way to add colours.
Is this feature not available yet or am i missing something obvious?

wow, i was hoping it would be simpler than that…

any ideas if gradients will be made simpler in the future?

Probably using color ramp node will be usefull for you, but now it is in development for cycles. You can use it with blender internal render or download a development version of blender.
