I would like to know how to do a white gloss on shiny black plastic surface like
here in those links included. I think in other softwares you can do it by placing a self illuminating surface above the model to create a white shiny gloss. How to fake this in yafray or in blender internal? I think blender does not have selfilluminating material, I hope I am wrong.
I should do a rendering similar type and as fotorealistic mobile phone as in the links included. Please help a newbie with blender. Modeling has been done and its okei
and I have a plastic material assigned. But I would like have some advice how to set up
lights which really produces a fotorealistic feeling.
How to create a nice white background like in some of these photos? Please advice, rendering has always been a big mystery to me.
I believe the process you speak of is called silking, it is also used in photography. If you go into the shader panel, at the bottom there are 4 sliders, one says emit. Crank that baby up. And under Link and Pipeline you might want to turn off shadbuf. I think this is what you mean.
Okei, I will test this. However I didn’t find any information of “silking” from internet, do you know any pages which tell more about this effect. Many thanks for quick reply.
Yes, I did it, without that special dll it does not work at all. But it still was very unstable with my file. However I have been progressing with creating glosses simply adding 20 spots.
Well it’s odd that it’s crashing, though I’m cleaning up/rewriting a bit of it after Brecht’s review, so it should be better when it’s in SVN. But anyway, the stuff I’ve been working on won’t help you at all, in fact it’s the opposite - it allows non-glossy (i.e. not shiny) reflections.
All you need is a black material, ray reflections, and a good dose of fresnel.
I would like to give you my file which makes the blender crash but it is a project which will be patented so unfortunately I cannot do that.
I have done the model with Rhino and T-Splines, then I converted it to obj format and imported it to Blender. It has many polygons. I have so much experience of importing/exporting that to me its no surprise that this kind of problem happens. There may be only only one vertex or something which is bad and it makes the file to crash the blender.
