Thanks! Is there any other infor I can use in understanding how to set it up? There is some problems with the files like after I move the view left & right and tried to move forward again, the walking speed slows down and when I press on the space bar… nothing happens. I thought its suppose to make me fly?

I kind of wrote a tutorial about making a walkthrough (or a mouselook for an FPS… same thing) a week or two ago. Let me dig up a link to the thread…

Okay, here it is: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87067&highlight=fps
You’ll need to read through most of the thread, since the tutorial is spread across several posts.

I really should make that into a tutorial on my website sometime. Anyhow, hope that helps you out.

There are a few bugs with the original walkthrough template when used with 2.42 (it’s going to be fixed in 2.43).

So for now, just use my fix:

THANKS! it looks great. However, I still need your help. I never done this game before and I don’t understand what and how this work together. How and where can I get more information in learning how to use the game engine and creating a simple walkthrough like the one you made.

Read the Blender Game Reference online or download it (1.2MB). You will learn about Logic Bricks, Python, and Game Materials there.

Blender 2.41 introduced a new feature called “Use Blender Materials” which allows you to use Blender’s material system (previously you could only use vertex colors and UV mapped textures). You can read about these new features in the Game Engine Material Documentation. It is available online, but I recommend that you download it because several of the images are broken in the online version, and they are very important to understanding the documentation.

My website (www.blendenzo.com) has many useful tutorials, and you can find more great tutorials and demos in the tutorials sticky thread at the top of this forum board.

Don’t expect to master it in a few days, but if you stick with it you should be able to make high quality walkthroughs and some alright games in a few weeks.

Thanks blendenzo

Does anyone have a walkthrough template I could use? Social’s file is great but I don’t know how to let my character walk up stairs or walk over small boxed hups.
