How to do an FPS on Blender 2.49?

I tried to look for the tutorials on You Tube but I couldn’t understand any of them. I need help. No Video Tutorials Please.

Try this website: http://www.tutorialsforblender3d.com/Game_Engine/VideoTexture/VideoTexture_Movie_1.html

It’s all text. But no single tutorial will get you a FPS. There are a hundred different things to learn.

For setting up FPS movement and camera, look here: http://riyuzakisan.weebly.com/mouselook-script.html

Good luck

If you’re new to the BGE and Blender, I would highly recommend using Blender 2.6. There’s not many very good reasons to stick with 2.49.

I tried for a long time to save my games as runtime so as to send them to my friends and whatnot…I just couldn’t make it happen in 2.6 or 2.5 for that matter…highly frustrating! Even though I am not a master game maker for me part of the the fun is being able to share my interactive creations. I can at least make 2.49 work as an independent, mail-in-a-folder package and that is important to me. Although it does take some extra work even in 2.49. Why can’t saving your game as runtime be made easier? It seems pretty important to me. Just wondering, and thanks for all your great solutions and answers, they help a lot.

In 2.5 and 2.6 save as runtime is a add-on. First enable the add-on then save.

Note that if You distribute a runtime the part of Your game embeded in the .exe have to be GPL.
