I was wondering how to do caustics with the Blender internal renderer.(Not Yafray) What are the steps to accomplish this? Are there any comprehensive tutorials regarding this subject? I’ve searched the forum and Google, but i could only find examples of people using plug-ins or saying they’ve faked it, but then not explain how they actually did that.
You might want to take a look at http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BSoD/Introduction_to_Lighting .
Isn’t there another or better way than this method?

I’ve seen animations that had moving/morphing/changing caustics in them made with Blender. Does that tutorial imply that such animations are not possible with the Blender Internal Renderer? Is one required to use Yafray for this?
There’s a caustics patch available that might be worth trying out. https://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=6622&group_id=9&atid=127 I am not sure if it compiles with the current SVN though.
