How to do "FACE" geometry in Blender

I am used to Maya and for a lot of my human face creation, i use FACE manipulation instead of vertex manipulation. Is there a way to select FACEs and manipulate them instead of always having to use vertices? Thanks for the help.

Not as simple as for vertices but you can select and amipulate faces.
In object mode [F] brings you to the face select mode. Select your face(s) and go to edit mode [TAB]. Leaving face select mode again with [F] in object mode.

Press F9 (mesh button) and enable “draw faces”. this displays the faces of your mesh. If you select the vertices that make up the face (3 or 4), the face is highlighted, thats how i do it.
