How to embed perpetual animations?

Here’s my dilemma:

I’m trying to make perpetual animations linked to my meshes. For example: I design a spaceship, and I want little lights to flash and flare to come out of the engines, but I want this to happen continually–not tied to frames. I know how to extrapolate with the IPO curve window, but there’s no option I have found to allow perpetual particle emission (like I might like to use for the engine flare). Basically, here’s what I want to do:

I want to create a mesh that can exported and then imported into another framework (in thes case Java 3D) that not only includes all my textures and materials, but a handful of embedded animated effects (like lights flashing, engines sputters, satellitle dishes rotating, and so on).

What’s the best way to do that?

afaik, i dont think there is a way, jsut extend you particle effect over all the frames of your animation (if this doesnt work in your case, then i’m sorry.)
