hi,

…without changing height the left border, position of the camera ?..how to do that absolutely correct and fast. i want exactly the same render as the square one…but expanded on the right side. if i make the rendersize bigger in width the render gets
narrower.

i dont get it done with settings…

i think there was a script for 3dsmax, maybe there is something similar for blender.

thanks a lot for help!

Hmm.. i somehow guess that the distance of movement along x depends on the part you are looking at and so depends on the distance from the camera. So this is defined by the frustrum of the camera and the actual virtual plane this is looking at.

But i have no clue how to calculate this. But now i remember:

You might try a value of 1 in the shift X settings in the camera properties.

good idea, but that means double rendering

Oh i thought you have already rendered that other part.. then maybe:

Double the width and use a value of 0.5 ??

Oh left border.. so `-0.5`.. ?

double the width halves the height of rendering,

…dont really understand why that such a problem in all render packages. why is it not possible to fix height or borders?

Oh yes.. you are changing the ratio… this may also depend on the _Camera → Camera → Sensor Fit_..

Maybe it’s better to explain the context more: why do you need to change from square do “side-byside-double-square”.. so you initial setup may be unfit for this task in th efirst place ??

So you use case may be a very special one which is not covered by “usual” default camera options.. IDK
