How to export an object with rigg, cloth simulation and hooks?

Hello,

i have made a rigged headphone, above speakers, we barelly see it on screen but there is a wire on each side that are in a bezier curve state that are hooked to the speakers and the armature above, the bottom wire is also hooked to one of the speaker and hooked and pined at the very bottom on a piece that is used to be pluged on a pc or an amp but there is a cloth simulation on bottom wire.
My question is: It is possible to export this object that can be re imported including: Hooked beziers curves, rigged armature, hook pin and cloth simulation or not at all ?
When I try to export and import in a new project, the bones constraints are messed up, bone sphere display is displaying a bone instead, hooks are not hooked anymore, cloth simulation isn’t playing and isn’t pined anymore.

Hello,

if you append the Headphone-collection
everything should be inside and working.

Can you describe exporting in more detail,
do you mean saving the scene or as an asset?

Exporting like an object+asset, I want to sell it on a 3D bank but this is the first time ever I use armature and constraints, and with a cloth simulation and hooks all in 1

ah, okay

it does not work as an append collection or as a whole scene?

this is an example append the headphonecollection in a fresh blenderscene

Okay, i will do some experiences with it then

Modifiers are a Blender-specific thing. You can export a model + armature with a few different formats (like .fbx) but there’s no cross-product format that includes support for hook or cloth modifiers. (Curves, too, are probably unsupported anywhere-- if supported, probably in a specialist format that then doesn’t support other important things.)

If there is an animation, you can export as an alembic, which is essentially a mesh cache that bakes your modifiers into the mesh, but it doesn’t sound like that would be useful for you here.

It’s what I noticed for the FBX, it doesn’t apply the hooks, simulation etc, i’m watching a course about how to append my object, it seems to be the solution

How did you do to transform the blend file into an appendable file ? Because when i try to import in using append function, it says error message and that this is not a library, so it means there is something to do before ?
And so this process would be the way to do to upload it and sell it online so the person can import it with everything ready including textures ?

quite simple :sun_with_face:

save your scene
-new scene
-file append (location where you saved the blenderscene)
-collection (lot of folders go inside collection)
xxxxxx (name of the collection where all is /must stored)

How do we save a scene, do you mean blender file like when we go to file and save as ?

yes ! save as!

It doesn’t want to access in it

everything I also do not know unfortunately!

-instead of append try link

-restart computer

try to start -blender as administrator

-google

hope some of this helps :crossed_fingers:

Alright, it works now, i press append on the blend file instead of double clicking on it and then append collections xd
So thank you, hat was the way to do.
And if i wanted an FBX file to import, the FBX file contains only the armature but not the hook and simulation ?

maybe this also

when append press N

for the options

instead of hooks you should use bones
they are probably exported,
spline-ik and clothsimulation you probably won’t get into another app

that had bandages already said

maybe CDdive has some ideas https://www.youtube.com/c/CGDive/videos

Ah, so it’s possible to make the small wires following speakers movements with bones armature ? because yes, if i try to scale my object or change position, it completly mess up this part

Edit: it’s working, i just forgot to select something

I keep it in mind for next time, but atm i’m gonna stick on this since it’s working well
