I have started to learn how to animate on blender. The arm’s mesh moves fine along the x axis, but alongside the y axis while in pose mode, it leads to this looping motion as shown in the screenshot. I have tried everything and it still does this. If you guys have any tips, that would be very helpful. Thank you.
Why is the model not in the same place as the armature? If you have moved the bones to the right in pose mode and the character moved away from the armature at that point, then you probably have two armature modifiers assigned to the character mesh. If that’s the case then delete the other one. The arm problem probably is also caused by that.
I had a look in the modifiers tab and there is no armature modifier. The movement along the x axis works fine but as shown in the screenshot, when moving along the y axis, it just loops.
As been said before your rig need to be aligned center with the model not as you have it next to.
They should also be both centred on world origin. the rig will need to be adjusted to fit to size in edit mode. Another thing i have noticed is that your robot parts are made of very dense mesh that will not help when rigging and animating.
No, the SubDevision modifier. Yes the rig inside. you need to search for begginers rigging/modelling tutorials.
You don’t need the solidifier. And your SubD was on 4. One or two will do.
