How to fix texture quality lessening after projection painting?

Hey all, I recently learned about projection painting and have been able to do it so far without running into any problems, however I tried again earlier and suddenly the textures appear grainy after painting them onto the UV map I want. Images below:

This is the texture from the UV map made from “project from view”: https://i.gyazo.com/3bc57517a0301d5006456edb617e761c.png

Here is the texture after I’ve texture painted it onto the UV map I want it to be on: https://i.gyazo.com/1d4fe99f22805ba85680aeab003070b0.png

The lips are the biggest give away.

Have I made an error in preparation for painting that’s stuck with me ever since? I’m certain I wasn’t having this issue after I first learned. Either way I was wondering if there is a way to fix this? Thanks

I throw in just a hypothesis:
could it be that you’ve created a small resolution texture where you’re painting?
Just try to create a bigger canvas and see if it works
