What do you mean by saying “library”?
I don’t entirely understands your message but if the device has been stolen unless you were working on a file stored in cloud storage or off site storage such as a NAS (Network Attached Storage) your file is lost. If the laptop has been stolen then it will be impossible to access local data stored on the physical drive.
