How to get halo effect in cycles

Halo edges?

Hi folks. I’m surprised I can’t find a decent answer for this, it must have been asked before. I’m using the Blender internal render for this particular project and want to use the halo style material, but want it to ‘light’ edges instead of points. This must have been done surely? Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I know it’s about internal - but the halo trickery is all in compositing, which is the same.

By the way - your diagram is very odd… it seems there is a link between Japanese and French…?
