How to get light to pass through colored glass

How can I get the color of colored glass object to show after light passes through it? So a plane would then show the color if the object was on the plane.
Thanks in advance,
Don.

I’m not quite sure but maybe you could use a set of same colored lights for each color of glass. And I don’t know if it’s needed, but if it was done well; you could use layers for each one and do some good copositing. But thats just off of the top of my head. There’s probably a better easier way, I don’t have much experience with this area. But thats how I would guess how to do it.

Yayfray render? Or map a graphic to the light and project it through the window, the only problem is that if you want a volumetric coloured light (beams of sunlight), a halo effect won’t reproduce the patern of colour.
Hope this helps.

Make sure “TransShad” is on on the transparent material and the surface you want it to show up on. Also make sure your light source has raytracing turned on…
