Human Generator is an excellent add-on to generate human characters in Blender. However, while the product is perfect, users struggle with getting good renders. Because I believe you can get excellent results in EEVEE, this video aims to get the best out of Human Generator in EEVEE.
You will find an accompanying article on the Blender-addons website for all the settings. See the link in the comments.
We take a look at a lot of things in this video like:
- Settings for skin, and adjusting the roughness in the shader editor
- Calibrate your scene with false color. This is to get a reference. I believe is the only reference we have.
- Finding plausible albedo values for skin colors. You can do some additional research. The default skin colors are a bit orange-yellowish. I show you how to adjust that.
- I try to at as much as subtle variations for the skin. Therefore don’t use foundation.
- Light! Light is half the work. You need a playful shadow, some variations in specular reflections, DOF will do well, and a bit of bloom in the compositor.
Enjoy the video.
Owh yes, I used spEEVEE (free) or the EEVEE Production Suite for lighting. It’s a perfect companion for Human Generator. It saves time and resources (CPU). You can render a frame in 5 or 6 seconds!
